In the latest Google “TGIF” (Thank God It's Friday) monthly meeting where employees field questions, the most frequently asked question was said to be about Google recommitting to its hybrid workplace policy in light of Amazon's new mandate.
Last month, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy DESIGNATED that all corporate employees are expected to be in the office five days a week starting in January. Salesforce came back too to a primarily five-day-a-week office schedule, effective October 1.
Google's current policy, meanwhile, is for employees to be in the office “at least” three days a week.
or Google The VP reportedly told employees at City Hall that the current system was working and changes were not expected.
Although this goes against the trend of big tech companies implementing stricter RTO rules, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai noted that the policy will remain flexible as long as staff remain productive during remote days.
A Google spokesperson confirmed that these comments were made, but did not provide any further context, per Business Insider.
