Taylor Swift is drawing plays for the Kansas City Chiefs

Taylor Swift is said to be contributing more than just her support from the sidelines as she takes on the Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce. In an interview with NBC's Chris Simms, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared that Swift has become a backup coach.

“She's really interested in football and she asks a lot of great questions,” Mahomes said. “She started drawing theater pieces, we might have to put one on.”

Since Swift and Kelce began their high-profile relationship, the NFL has reportedly seen an increase in female viewership, essentially uniting two dominant spheres of the American entertainment industry. This merger is believed to have played a role in Super Bowl viewership – 123.4 million average viewers watched the Chiefs' recent win over the San Francisco 49ers, making that game the most-watched televised event in the US since the historic Apollo 11 moon landing , according to NFL Stats.

Mahomes highlighted the profound impact Swift's interest in the game has had in increasing the sport's appeal, particularly among girls and young women. “I know being a father of a daughter, how beautiful it is for me to see these little girls – these girls – and how much they want to spend time with their father, watching football,” he said.

It's hard to say whether Swift's game plan will catch on on the court or not, but Mahome's discovery points to a vital ingredient that's key for high-performing couples to find health and happiness together. In the McKinsey study Making it work: How dual-career couples find career fulfillmentThe authors write that power couples who thrive, “exhibit a special team spirit, a sense that they are in this race together for the long haul.”

One interviewee explains that balancing two high-powered careers isn't easy, but the rewards can be great. “Because we both work, there are times when I feel like I can take more risks, and the same goes for him.”

Another executive interviewed said, “I help (my husband's) career (by) networking, mingling at events, (and giving) marketing advice and reviews. He's great at communicating as a lawyer and has helped me with things.”

Genuine interest, pride and joy in your partner's success are the cornerstones of a lasting relationship. And while haters may mock Swift's attendance at games or Kelce's attendance at her shows, their support for one another only shows that these two stratospheric superstars go even further.
