McDonald's recently introduced Food collectorwith six collectible cups decorated with nostalgic characters such as Beanie Babies, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Hello Kitty, Peanuts, Shrek and more. THESE plastic glasses, which were offered by the glass in Canada at the start of the promotion, they quickly became sought-after items, with several kits resold online for almost 100 dollars. Each mug is encased in blue plastic, hiding its design until it's opened, adding an element of surprise for collectors.
The Collector's Food is available in different variations throughout the day. During breakfast hours, it includes a sausage and egg McMuffin, hash browns and hot coffee. Later in the day, customers can choose between a 10-piece McNuggets or a Big Mac, served with fries and a soft drink. Collection cups are available as part of these meals in-store, online and through the McDonald's app. Foods range from 10-12 dollarsdepending on location.
Nostalgic collections have made waves on the secondary market, with individual glasses for sale between $11 AND 50 dollars on eBay. As of Aug. 19, McDonald's is still selling the Collector's Meal Cups, but their limited-edition status — the brand hasn't said when the promotion will end — is likely to drive up the price.
McDonald's has a long history of offering commemorative cups. In 1977, she offered glass cups with Peanuts characters in a Camp Snoopy themeand in 1992, offered a set of six plastics collector's cups to coincide with the release of Batman Returns.
In 2000, the brand offered the glasses showing Disney characters from popular movies, and eight years later, she offered limited edition glasses commemorating the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

McDonald's has been busy this summer. She dropped a new McFlurry, yo Kit Kat Banana Splitearlier this month, following the nostalgic Grandma McFlurry in May. Brand also recently extended his limited time $5 meal dealwhich he presented last month. The deal comes with a four-piece order of Chicken McNuggets, small fries and a drink, and the customer can choose a McChicken or McDouble sandwich.
The brand is also testing ready a pound Great Bow – of the company the biggest burger ever — to international markets this year, with plans to eventually roll it out to a larger demographic.
