(Bloomberg) — Thomas Matthew Crooks, the The 20-year-old armed who shot and wounded former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, appeared briefly in an ad for BlackRock Inc., the company said Sunday.
Crooks was one of several students who appeared in the background of the 2022 ad and were unpaid, BlackRock, the world's largest money manager, said in a statement. The ad was filmed at Bethel Park High School, where Crooks graduated in 2022, and featured a teacher, the company said.
The company did not describe the content of the ad, but said the footage would be made available to authorities and would be removed from circulation. He also condemned the attack on Saturday that left one participant dead and two others seriously injured.
“The assassination attempt on former President Trump is despicable. We are grateful that former President Trump was not seriously injured and are thinking of all the innocent bystanders and victims of this horrific act, especially the person who was killed,” the statement said.
BlackRock reports earnings on Monday. The company has failed in the past Review after the shootings in the US, because some of its index funds stocks in arms manufacturers.
