With a family heritage steeped in courage, Dawn Kelly becoming an entrepreneur was almost inevitable.
As the founder of Nutritional pointhealthy the food and New York City's drinking destination, Kelly's small business journey began with big dreams. After an extensive career in the corporate space, realizing her potential as a business owner took a significant turn during her participation in Goldman Sachs 10,000 small businesses program.
With the help of that program and other trainings (including NYC Economic Development Corporation) her eyes were open to her potential. “That's when I realized I could do this,” she told Shawn Walchef Cali BBQ Media.

Dawn Kelly pulled and continues to harvest inspiration from her mother and grandfather. He was a military veteran who moved his family to Jamaica, Queens after being denied housing elsewhere. Her background instilled in her the values of hard work and the importance of an early start.
“I'm the oldest in my family, and so one of the things my grandfather taught me was that the early bird gets the worm,” Agimi says. This family legacy continued when Kelly started The Nourish Spot with her daughter.

Embracing the adage that a picture is worth a thousand words, Kelly values the visual aspect of Instagram storytelling, using it to document her personal and professional journey.

“I love taking pictures. I always have. So what Instagram has allowed me to do, both personally and professionally, is document my journey,” Kelly says.

“There will be no doubt when I'm gone about what I've been able to accomplish and the things that have made me happy, and the benefits of what our business brings to our community, our community of Jamaica, Queens and beyond. “
