“Shark Tank” star Barbara Corcoran says buying real estate as soon as possible, regardless of the state of the market, is the best bet.
The real estate maven echoed those sentiments in a recent series with Forbes' Women and Wealthwhere she explained that if potential buyers wait until interest rates drop, they will face a tougher market due to increased competition and higher prices.
“If you think you have a problem now finding a house, you're going to have a bigger problem and pay a lot more for the house,” she explained. “So there's no point in waiting. There's nothing better to wait for.”

Corcoran said she learned this lesson the hard way — decades ago, she moved on to buying a studio apartment in New York.
“When I was in my late 20s, I took over a studio I could barely afford — I left,” she said. “I just didn't have the guts to go ahead. But it took me maybe five years to hit the market again. I was gone before I could find another studio.”
Now, the 74-year-old has many real estate properties in her portfolio, including one $1 million double trailer in California and a 13 million dollars Penthouse in NYC.
In an episode of “The Elvis Duran ShowLast month, Corcoran first shared her thoughts on getting into the market early, telling viewers that you can always upgrade and “trade” when the time is right.
