Are you ready to be a CEO, a founder or both? Here's how to know

The opinions expressed by the contributors of the entrepreneur are theirs.

A founder is very different from a CEO. Photograph a founder as someone who does not fully make Authority of RespectOnce they know deep down, they have a better vision than the current system. This is a founder.

Now, photograph a CEO. Like a principal at a school, CEOs are responsible for executing a mission. They make decisions of their owners and bosses (shareholders and board members), and they only create after receiving approval from their supervisors (again, shareholders and board members).

The visionary skills that CEO possess are very different from the visionary skills possessed by the founders. Most can't do both. If they try to make them both, many times, they fail. But there are some who can Learn to do both. The difficulty is to admit that both are each very different category with very different skills sets.

The founders are often highly led by the lack of business strategy and will not move from their original vision to keep their mission alive, which can make their company bankrupt.

Experienced and CEO founders often know where they stay in the mix. Many founders will come out of their companies at certain stages of growth. Many experienced CEOs will not work with new companies until they are more mature with a lower risk profile.

From what I have seen, the biggest risk is the bridge from a founding company to an operational business. This is where you will often see bigger businessmen to encourage founders, consume their intellectual property, or try hostile taking. The business world is not good, and many fail because of the pressures around.

What about you? Are you a functioning CEO, founder or both? Or are you neither nor looking for advice to take you to the next step? I wish someone had been able to give me advice on the level I was sharing with you. I may have been able to avoid some of the conflicts I have won along the way since the opening of my first business in 2018.

So what qualities do you own? A founder? A CEO? Or both?
