When Bill Gates withdrew from that of Microsoft Board in 2020seemed to be the end of almost four decades of entrepreneur in the tech giant he co-founded in 1975. Although in his Gates notes blogHe states that he is still a “technical adviser”, it was not clear how long he was actually going to the company.
Gates spent 25 years as CEO and spent a part -time role in Microsoft in June 2008. And despite officially withdrawing in 2020, Gates never retired.
In a new interview Wall Street JournalGates said he is still doing “product reviews” in Microsoft, and requires “probably 15%” of the 69-year-old.

Gates also said he and current CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella Still have a “very close relationship”.
“I like to make product ratings and he brings me to do it,” Gates said. “Maybe 15% of my time. It helps me stay up to date.”

This is a departure from April 2024, when Business Insider reported This Bill Gates was working behind the scenes in Microsoft, and a company spokesman told Outlet, “Bill is not in Microsoft and is not included here.”
So it doesn't look like Gates will retire at any time soon.
As his blog says: “I have a view of the front seats for all the amazing work that the company continues to do in my current role as a technology adviser, and I can't wait to see what else is.”
