A former bank branch adviser with Charles Schwab is sueing the company, claiming to ignore the claims of sex and discriminate against the age she raised for her manager.
Lynette Ancona is based on Winter Park, FL, and was with Schwab from 2009 to 2023 before joining Raymond James As a senior vice president of asset management (At that time, it reached about $ 750 million in client assets).
In a litigation set up in Florida's Federal Court this week, Ancona said she left her role of deputy president, senior financial consultant in Schwab in the face of intolerable working conditions, including the alleged age and sexual discrimination by Bank Bank manager Olivier Guerin (who has been with Schwab since 1997, since 1997, According to Finra data).

“Guerin further helped young employees, especially young men, with the advancement of their careers, but he undermined Ancona's progress and success,” the complaint said. “Guerin would claim that young men were 'young and hungry'.”
Ancona claimed that a female client relationship manager over 50 transferred from the branch due to how he handled Guerin, and two male collaborators over 50 claimed that Guerin favored young male employees.
According to Ancona, she went to human resources about Gueri's behavior, but her complaints were not addressed. Guerin allegedly learned about it and examined even more Ancona, including the release of a “unfounded and incorrect” training memorandum that Ancona said had a “cold” effect on her stay in Schwab. Ancona claimed that Guerin also returned a $ 60,000 commission that she would rightly receive.
“Ancona made a complaint about high leadership about this overthrow and noted that it was due to her age and sex,” the complaint said. “After her further complaint, Guerin increased his criticism of Ancona's performance and increased his isolation from her colleagues.”
Jan Schwartz, the lawyer representing Ancona, did not respond to a commentary request before publication.
According to a Schwab spokesman, the firm opposed the allegations and plans to respond to court.
“We want our employees to thrive in Schwab and have a zero tolerance policy on any form of discrimination,” the spokesman said.
Ancona left on December 22, 2023, arguing her mental and physical health had suffered from Guerin's claimed revenge and discrimination. She later heard Gueri allegedly told her customers that she could not deal with “all her customers adequately” and did not “offer quality advice”.
In March 2024, she joined Raymond James' Employee Advisor along with customer service associate Stephanie Gisler.
