Mary Saylor had worked hard to earn her accounting degree at Penn State University when she received some shocking news at the beginning of her high year – she was pregnant. And while many women would think of it as a road barrier, Sayllor saw it as a blessing. Did not stop her from pursuing her rank and a career in financial services. If anything, it made it more determined.
Not long after her daughter gave birth to her daughter, she graduated from Penn State and began working in corporate accounting, winning her CPA and making her way to corporate stairs as a single mother in the early 20s. While she had the support of her firm and family, the watches and time away from the house were difficult for her and her daughter.
