If you have a podcast that is trying to violate the noise of millions of shows there on Apple and Spotify, make sure you are not overlooking the podcast distribution platform that fixes everyone: YouTube.
Bloomberg reporting that over a billion people watch and/or listen to Podcast on YouTube every month, making it the most popular US Podcast show service, quoting Edison's search.
Tim Katz, vice president for YouTube partnerships, told Outlet that YouTube had not planned this and much was prevented in her podcasting superpower.
“Podcasters were coming to YouTube organically and users were accumulating in their content,” Katz said. “At that point, we were like,” we have to rely. “”
Katz says that after seeing an influx of podcasters coming to YouTube, “it was a matter that we poured a little gas on it.” Creators can now label their contents as podcast, helping the algorithm serve content for regular listeners, and Katz says the platform is exploring ways podcasters make money from their shows.
According to YouTube statistics, viewers watched more than 400 million hours podcast every month in 2024.
So if you have a podcast, turn on the cameras and stop hiding behind your microphone. YouTube's Podcast public is enraged and hungry for more.
