According to reports, ChatGPT has been down since Thursday morning for thousands of users worldwide DownDetector.
Creator of OpenAI's ChatGPT status page said there were “increasing errors for ChatGPT,” and at 5:12 a.m. PST, the company said they were investigating the issue and had “identified the root cause.”
About half an hour later, they reported that they were working to “implement a fix.” Another update at 6:34 a.m. PST says: “We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue.”
Now the company says the problem has been fixed, though it hasn't said what the problem was.
The BBC reports that more than 10,000 people reported that the app was down on Thursday morning as workers started their day.
Some workers were having a harder time than others.
“ChatGPT doesn't work, I realize 90% of my tasks have to wait until it comes back,” one user wrote in X.
The Independent reports that some users were worried they would be fired for having to write code and essays themselves.
