Nick Cambridge CTO, Nick Graham


Nick Graham, chief technology officer at Cambridge Investment Research, recently stepped down from his role at the independent broker/dealer. The company confirmed his departure, effective December 31, and has launched a search for his replacement.

“We appreciate Nick's leadership of the technology teams and his contributions over the past seven years,” a Cambridge spokesperson said in a statement.

Graham joined Cambridge in 2017 as CTOtasked with innovating the Independent Dealer Broker/Advisor workstation. He also sat on Cambridge's board of directors. He replaced Ryan Reineke, who at the time served as chief operating and technology officer. (Reineke is currently the COO at Invent.us.)

Graham was named Chief Technology Officer of the Year in 2021WealthManagement.com Industry prices.

He did not return a request for comment before publication.

He has over 25 years of experience in product development, consulting services and business development in various markets, including the financial services industry. Before joining Cambridge, he was a consultant at ViaWest, an IT services management company that has since been renamed Flexential. Prior to that, he was vice president of operations at Brandwise, which provides sales technology and business-to-business e-commerce software.

About a year ago, Cambridge launched a new RIA targets smaller and fee-only advisors looking for flexible purchase options. BridgePort Financial Solutions is an independent entity from the Cambridge corporate RIA and broker/dealer, and takes minority, majority or full ownership stakes in advisory businesses that join the platform. The firm hired Eddie Rollins, who previously led distribution efforts at Horizon Investments, as managing director of BridgePort.

IBD recently announced the promotion of Brian Reid, a vice president of practice management, to senior vice president of relationship management. Reid, who has been with Cambridge since 2009, will focus on improving advisor satisfaction and retention and driving growth opportunities.

Cambridge currently has more than 3,800 financial advisers across the country.
