(Bloomberg) — Morgan Stanley named longtime executive Mandell Crawley to lead a new unit that combines client coverage, strategy and marketing, as Chief Executive Ted Pick continues to set his priorities a year into his tenure .
Crawley, a 32-year veteran of the firm and one of its oldest black executives, will lead the firm's integrated management organization as chief client, according to a series of memos first seen Friday and Monday by Bloomberg News . Crawley will report to co-presidents Andy Saperstein and Dan Simkowitz in his new role.
The unit “is designed to drive coordination and commercial results across our businesses,” Saperstein and Simkowitz wrote in a memo Monday. The firm named Elizabeth Dennis head of global client coverage, reporting jointly to Crawley, head of wealth management and co-head of investment banking.
Crawley was previously Morgan Stanley's chief human resources officer, and Pick tapped Adam Kudelka and Cami Rice to succeed him in that role. Prior to this role, Crawley was head of private wealth management.
