Earlier this week, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos had a public spat on X, the platform Musk owns, over comments Bezos allegedly made about President-elect Donald Trump. Although Bezos refuses to comment.
“I just found out tonight at Mar-a-Lago that Jeff Bezos is telling everyone that @realDonaldTrump is going to lose for sure, so they should sell all their Tesla and SpaceX stock,” Musk. wrote on Thursday in a post seen more than 44 million times (according to X) at the time of writing.
Bezos replied to the postsaying “No. 100% not true” to which Musk he answered“Well then, I stand corrected.”

Musk and Bezos are two of the most powerful people in the world, by one combined net worth over half a trillion dollars. Bezos is the second richest person in the world with a net worth of 226 billion dollars while Musk takes first place with a net worth of $331 billion.
But that hasn't stopped the two tech titans from feuding on social media.

Musk heads the space exploration company SpaceX and Bezos heads rival firm Blue Origin. Since the year 2004the two companies have entered into patent battlesspits on talentand the arguments on which it was reached space feats first.
For example, Bezos shady Musk's ambition to colonize Mars in a private lecture in 2019, while Musk called it a imitator the same year for his plans for Internet satellites.
Musk said in one 2021 interview with the Financial Times that Bezos “takes himself a little too seriously” and “seems unwilling to spend mental energy getting into engineering details”.

Musk also publicly criticized Bezos' project The Rings of Power, an adaptation of Lord of the Rings released in 2022, tweets “Tolkien is turning in his grave.”
While the power dynamic between Musk and Bezos may change after Trump's victory, this latest exchange proves that the dynamic between the world's two richest men remains contentious.
Trump recently named Musk a co-head of the new Department of Government Efficiency to help shrink the US government.
