At the end of each year, we The entrepreneur I always ask myself: What will be the hottest franchise trends in the coming year? To answer this question, we consider what's trending in the world at large, what types of businesses we're seeing launch new franchise programs, what types of existing franchises are experiencing growth, and more. All these factors, together with our 40 years of experience covering franchise industryhelp us come up with our annual list of the 10 categories we think have the most potential to thrive in the coming year.

This year, we've chosen several food categories, as we always do – but specifically, we've zeroed in on the categories that appeal to both franchisees and customers trying to keep costs down: drinks, chicken and desserts. Care is also a key theme in this year's list, from Childcare to Aged Care, along with Mental Health and Autism Services. Pets also appear; is one of the longest-running categories on this list, constantly fueled by people's love (and willingness to spend) for furry friends. Rounding out this year's list are Kids' Fitness, Home Improvement, and another category often included thanks to its resilient nature, Restoration.
