Ryan Salame, a former senior FTX executive who worked alongside Sam Bankman-Friedis set to report to federal prison in Maryland on Friday. He pleaded guilty to campaign finance fraud in May and will serve a sentence of seven and a half years.
Salame, 31, announced the change in location and landscape updating his LinkedIn Thursday with the news.
“I am happy to share that I am starting a new position as an inmate at FCI Cumberland!” he wrote.
After going viral on LinkedIn, an account that appears to be Salame (with a bio that reads: β7.5 years in prison. Ex: Freeman, US Republican Mega-donor, CEO of FTX Digital Markets, Circle Trade, CPA. HK/ USA/Bahamas Not a lawyer,β he told X with another joke.

Bankman-Friedwho founded already bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchanger, was found guilty in November IN seven charges, including fraud, embezzlement and criminal conspiracy, of stealing $8 billion from FTX customers. He is serving a 25-year sentence.
In one press release In September 2023, US Attorney Damian William said: “Ryan Salame agreed to advance the interests of FTX, Alameda Research and its associates through an illegal political influence campaign and through an unlicensed money transmission business which assisted FTX grow faster and bigger by acting outside the lawβ.
