Last week, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told the employees that they will have to return to personal work, five days a week, by January 2. Now, a new survey of 2,585 Amazon employees from Blind found that 91% are “dissatisfied” with the new term of office.
Are they unhappy enough to take action, however? Nearly three in four (73%) say yes – and are already thinking about looking for other jobs.

In the memo, Jassy noted that “strengthening our culture remains a top priority” and that he “(thinks) about it all the time.”
“Teams tend to bond better with each other,” Jassy added.
However, Blind's survey found that the RTO's new policy is having the opposite effect. Most of Amazon's corporate employees reported that they didn't want to go back to the office five days a week, and about 80% already knew people who were looking for other jobs.
“My morale about this job is gone, I'm going to check it all the way to PIP,” a Verified Amazon Professional wrote in Blind.

According to the report, Amazon hiring managers Anonymously also said that candidates are dropping out job interview in response to the new mandate.
“The general RTO policy is insane, especially for those of us who are employed remotely and away from an office. I have kids and family here so willing to relocate,” an Amazon Verified Professional who identified like one said the parent. “Even if I didn't, there's a very big risk I'd be out for 6 months anyway, so why risk a move?”
Amazon has not yet commented on the Blind report. The survey was conducted from September 17 to 19, 2024 and focused on verified US employees.
