Elon Musk: I'm not giving Trump $45 million a month

Regardless of one bomb report and a shout-out from thanks to Donald Trump, Elon Musk has announced that he will not be donating $45 million a month to a Super PAC supporting the Trump campaign.

In an interview with Jordan Peterson published Monday, Musk denied one Wall Street Journal report from last week that the alleged billionaire had agreed to make mega-donations to America PAC after publicly endorsing Trump in the 2024 election.

“What has been reported in the media is simply not true,” Musk told Peterson. “I'm not giving Trump $45 million a month.”

Musk clarified his comments at X on Wednesday, admitting that although he was donating money to the conservative-backed Super PAC, the original claims are “ridiculous” in nature.

“I'm making some donations to America PAC, but at a much lower level and the PAC's core values are supporting a meritocracy and individual liberty,” he said. “Republicans are mostly, but not entirely, on the side of merit and liberty.”

A special report from Bloomberg claimed that Musk had donated to the American PAC in June, but did not specify how much he had donated at the time.

During a rally in Michigan last weekend, Trump addressed report of Musk's alleged monthly donations, saying he wasn't aware it was happening, but still shouted his “love” for Musk.

“I read — I didn't even know this, he didn't even tell me about it — but (Musk) gives me $45 million a month,” Trump said at the time. “I just talked to him a little while ago to say I'm coming here, 'How are you doing?' and he didn't even mention it.”

Musk publicly supported Trump following the July 13 assassination attempt on the former president, saying he would “totally condone” it and called for a “speedy recovery.”

Founder of Tesla too called Trump's deputy nomination, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, an “excellent decision.”
