Cetera hires Fidelity Exec as Head of Advanced Wealth


Cetera Financial Group has hired another former Fidelity executive, naming Jerry Patterson as head of advanced wealth solutions, a newly created position. Patterson, the former president of Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company, will build Cetera's retirement, life insurance and annuity products available to the firm's advisors.

At Fidelity, Patterson helped the firm's advisors and RIA network partners incorporate insurance into their practices. Before joining Fidelity, he was at Principal Financial Group for two decades. He will be based out of Cetera's Des Moines, Iowa office.

“Jerry will play a critical role in elevating our insurance solutions and expanding our already successful employment and retirement offerings, which Jon Anderson continues to lead,” said Adam Antoniades, CEO at Cetera Financial Group.

Anderson currently serves as director of retirement plan solutions.

This follows a series of executive appointments Cetera has done in recent months. Just last week, the firm hired Scott Bakerformer president and chairman of the board for Fidelity Personal Trust Company, as head of corporate strategy.

Mike Durbin, CEO of Cetera Holdings, the parent company of Cetera Financial, also came from Fidelity, serving as head of Fidelity Institutional until December 2022. He joined Cetera in May of last year.

Daniel Burkott, former chief compliance officer for Cadaret Grant, joined the firm in late May as CCO of Cetera's tax channel, which includes Cetera Financial Specialists and Avantax.

In May, Cetera also brought on Brian Lampron, former vice president of RIA Services at Commonwealth Financial Network, as managing director of RIA Solutions.

Cetera also added Jon Myczka, a former senior director of digital products at Ally Financial, as managing director of RIA and digital advisory experiences.

Late last year, Logan Galli joined Cetera as head of business consulting. He came from LPL Financial, where he was senior vice president and head of distribution.

Amy Rehn, formerly senior vice president of RIA custodial platform at Osaic, has been named managing director of investment solutions at Cetera.

In Aprill, Cetera announced the appointment of Michael Molnar as head of corporate development from Avantax, the $84 billion tax-focused wealth management firm bought it last year.

Cetera has more than 12,000 advisors for $213 billion in assets under management and $505 billion in assets under administration.
