Amazon Fresh is the latest retailer to announce it is slashing prices on thousands of popular items as companies try to win back shoppers amid persistent inflation.
The company confirmed it will cut prices on more than 4,000 items including seafood, snacks, frozen meals, dairy, cheese and meat. The discount will rotate weekly.
Shoppers can expect to see prices down by up to 30% on select items, with Prime members eligible for an additional 10% off items already marked down when ordering groceries online.

“Increasing our weekly deals on thousands of items and expanding the reach of Prime Savings on Amazon Fresh is just one way we're continuing to invest in competitive prices and savings for all of our customers — both in-store and online,” said. Worldwide Vice President of Amazon Fresh, Claire Peters, in a statement via CNN.
Both Amazon's in-house brands and national brands sold through Amazon will qualify for the lower price deals.
Amazon has 44 Amazon Fresh stores in eight US states and reported a strong Q1 2024with $143.3 billion in revenue, an increase of 13% year over year.

Amazon isn't alone in trying to cut grocery items to keep customers coming back.
Last week, the Objective announced it's slashing prices on about 5,000 items by the end of the summer. Walmart also discovered that it would start discounting about 7,000 items.
Amazon it was upstairs for 48.75% year over year as of Tuesday morning.
“If you want to … serve as many food missions as we intend to serve, you have to have a perishable business and a massive physical presence. And that's what we've been working on with Amazon Fresh,” said Amazon CEO Andy Jassy during the call earnings last month.
