Ritholtz Wealth Management has opened a new office in the Manhattan Beach neighborhood of Los Angeles.
A spokesperson confirmed this was a new office, not an acquisition.
The $4 billion AUM firm serves high net worth clients and institutions and now has 11 offices nationwide. Most of them are small shops with one or two advisers. Ritholtz opened a new office in July 2023 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Senior Counsel Michelle Katzen and Counsel Jordan D. Hanson will lead the new Los Angeles office, having joined the firm 10 and three months ago, respectively. Before joining Ritholtz, both Katzen and Hanson spent several years with HCR Wealth Advisors in LA. Katzen won the Rising Star of the Year award in 2022 Wealth management industry awards.
Katzen previously worked at Toyota Financial Services, Union Bank and UBS. She graduated with a master's degree in financial engineering from the UCLA Anderson School of Business and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Colorado State University.
Hanson has worked as a financial advisor for over eight years and graduated from the University of Nevada with an MBA and a bachelor's degree in economics.
Ritholtz Wealth Management was founded in 2010 by Barry Ritholtz, chairman and chief investment officer. Ritholtz hosts the Bloomberg podcast “Masters in Business” and appears regularly on Bloomberg TV, while CEO Josh Brown is a CNBC on-air personality and creator of the Downtown Josh Brown blog.
